We must say that this is one of the best explanations that you have ever written and on a subject that most people would find too difficult or boring BUT only because you have taken the time to marshal your thoughts and set them down clearly and sensibly- this is what many people call scholarship.Your writing style is bold, quirky and with really nice construction. thankyou very much for being a spiffy writer! We have a musician friend who is a concert pianist in a Australia we would like to send it to him and also Deidre Irons who is one of the best pianists in New Zealand and also in Europe so that they can see and perhaps comment on what you have written- may we?

    What a great introduction to the alto clef. Thankyou very much. I particularly appreciated your use of images to illustrate how the alto clef relates to the other clefs. It is certainly a shy clef compared with its treble and bass cousins, and known mainly to viola players like yourself. Although I play mainly piano these days, I once learned the viola - like you - for two years, 1977 and 1978 - long before you were born! So I too am an alto clef aficionado.
